Job Summary
He/She conducts analysis and prepares agreements for approval using revenue management tools to ensure UPS’s approval guidelines have been met. He/She provides competitive rates and effective pricing strategies that both maximize profitability and favorably position UPS in the marketplace and reviews incentive requests for accuracy. This position supports the sales team in their efforts to grow profitable volume through incentive proposals, answers pricing-related questions, and provides supplemental information to sales during the pricing appeal process. This role may have direct reports and ad-hoc projects in accordance with team goals and business objectives
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and Analyzes Pricing Requests, review competitive situations, current market conditions, and profitability of accounts to formulate sales/pricing strategies.
- Builds queries using various database tools to understand customers’, volume, revenue, and rates to determine what value proposition UPS can provide.
- Completes ad hoc analyses for management, provide information on financial impacts of different pricing scenarios
- Develops appropriate pricing strategies to position UPS effectively and appropriately in relation to the competition and marketplace, while taking profitability and contribution into consideration
- Develops and implements incentive agreements.
- Ensures compliance with UPS revenue management policies and profitability goals.
- Obtains knowledge of pricing systems and tools to accurately monitor proposals through the bid cycle.
- Works with appropriate internal systems to ensure timely and accurate pricing implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics or related field – Preferred
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Detail oriented and quality focused
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Experience with various database tools
- Understands basic financial terminology and concepts
