Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for aFull Time Automotive Technicianto work in ourVancouver Hub Facility (near YVR - Richmond BC).

This is a Permanent and Full Time Mechanic position located at:5960 Ferguson Road, Richmond BC.


Job Summary:

UPS Automotive Techniciansare responsible for the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of package delivery vehicles and tractor-trailers. They ensure that that all UPS vehicles are serviced regularly by following the company's preventive and planned maintenance schedule.

UPS Automotive Technicians are also required to resolve DVIR concerns for each vehicle on time. They are also required to create and submit maintenance reports on all vehicles they service.

  • This is an evening / night shift;

  • Work days are fromMonday to Friday;

  • Schedules are based on operational requirements;

  • Shift hours will slightly vary and may be subject to change;

  • Guaranteed wage progression with a guaranteed top rate;

  • Medical, dental, group insurance and pension benefits;

  • UPS is a Federally Regulated Workplace;

UPS offers a competitive compensation package which includes a guaranteed wage progression**, guaranteed top rate of above thirty-nine dollars an hour**, annual cost of living adjustments, benefit options including health and dental coverage, group insurance plan, paid vacation, employee stock purchase plan and an unlimited opportunity to grow within the company.


Skills Required:

All Candidates are required to have the following Abilities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to follow set and standard procedures;

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License (BC Class 5 is mandatory);

  • Able to operate a Standard Transmission / Manual Transmission Vehicle;

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment; and,

  • Must be Bondable.

UPS also requires candidates to have:

  • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification(Certificate of Qualification/Inter-provincial Red-Seal);

  • Must own essential trade tools and equipment;

  • Must have own safety-shoes;

  • Reliable transportation (facility is not transit accessible);

  • Experience in Diesel Engines, Vehicle Electrical and Electronic Systems, Steering, Brakes and Suspensions; and,

  • Experience in the maintenance of both Standard and Automatic Transmissions

Experience in Propane-Fueled Engines and in Fleet Maintenance is an asset but is not mandatory.
